Yates aims to follow his military service with community service in Place 4 seat

.

Brian Yates is one of two candidates running for Abilene City Council Place 4. Yates retired from the Air Force, where as Colonel, he was the base’s group commander. He went on to use his 25 years of military experience as the Vice President for Military Affairs for the Abilene Chamber of Commerce.  Now he hopes to fill the seat left open by Weldon Hurt who’s running for mayor.  His campaign has focused on infrastructure, public safety, and maintaining the city’s relationship with Dyess.
