Former Abilene Mayor Anthony Williams said the breakfast is an opportunity to keep the memory of King alive by continuing to live out what he preached and standing up for what is right, “We may have enough sense not to turn back the clock and go back that way, but do we have the courage to seize what’s promised to us? The truth being most of us just stand back and are satisfied with where we are. We are here today to challenge that thought”
At the breakfast, pastors from around the Big Country prayed for the nation, the city of Abilene, clergy members, and first responders and spoke about the impact of King’s life.
