STEVE INSKEEP, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep. Criticizing your critics may just get them attention. Kansas Governor Sam Brownback met visiting high school students. Student Emma Sullivan dislikes Brownback's politics and sent a joking but crude message on Twitter. The governor's staff complained. The school principal demanded an apology. Instead, Ms. Sullivan ended up on TV. She now has thousands of Twitter followers and tweeted last night she will not write the letter of apology. It's MORNING EDITION.
