The May 7th General Election will give Abilene voters a choice among two candidates running for the Place 5 seat on the Abilene City Council. Kyle McAlister is running for his 4th term. He is also an account executive with Lamar Outdoor Advertising. During his nine years on the city council, McAlister has helped set budgets and form policy on everything from development to the street maintenance fee and Abilene’s response to COVID-19. Councilman McAlister shares his views on the proposed Sanctuary City ordinance, his views on streets and infrastructure, police funding, and economic development.
