100% of the money raised pours back into the Hope Fund, which ensures that all residents of the Big Country have access to mammograms and medical equipment, no matter their financial circumstances.
Public relations manager at Hendrick Health Lynne Bruton says this is a fun night that raises awareness for a serious cause. "People are out here having the best night. Maybe they're going through treatment and maybe they're done with treatment. We have survivors, friends of survivors, and family members of survivors. People are just here for the cause and they're all together just having a night off and having fun and knowing that every bit, 100% of their money is going to help someone else have a mammogram and that, to me, you can't ask for anything more."
Lynn added that the success of this event is owed to the dedication of the Hendrick staff and the volunteers who made it possible. According to their estimations, the event raised a remarkable $110,000, surpassing the initial goal of $100,000. This year marks a special occasion as a Bunco for Breast Cancer event will be hosted in Brownwood for the first time on Monday.
