Abilene Christian University Theatre's spring musical starts today and promises dozens of songs from the 1950's and 60's.
"The Marvelous Wonderettes," is an off-broadway hit that takes the audience to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where four girls perform classic songs. The play follows the young women through the next decade and into their 10-year high school reunion.
Director Dawne Meeks says the performance is a "bubble-gummy, family-friendly show."
The four girls sing 32 pop songs including “Lollipop,” “Mr. Sandman,” and “Leader of the Pack.”
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Feb. 6, 7, 13-14, 20-21 at Fulks Theatre in the Williams Performing Arts Center at ACU.
