In today's column Larry answers this question from an Abilene woman, "My brother and I are at odds on a recycling question. When you turn in the plastic drink containers, such as soft drink bottles, are the lids supposed to be on or off?"
Larry checked with the city's environmental recycling center.
"Gary Chandler over there says that they get them both ways but they prefer that the lids be removed," Zelisko said. "The lids are a different kind of plastic and require a different recycling process. So the answer is you can take them either way but they prefer to have the lids off."
