Taste Of Abilene Event Growing Every Year

Taste of Abilene returns Thursday, April 30, at the Abilene Civic Center from 6-8 p.m. The event allows residents to experience over 40 restaurants all over Abilene and the surrounding area. The event includes food and drinks for adults, as well as other activities and entertainment.

"It's a lot of fun sampling everything and you hear people talk about, you know, what they like the best, what they didn't like. We give out this giant fork and spoon to the restaurants that gets the most votes for favorite restaurant, the piano man will be there playing and it's in two rooms, it's grown, this event has grown so big that we are in two huge parts of the civic center,” said Sidney Levesque, Abilene Rotary Club member and director of marketing for Abilene Cultural Affairs Council.

Glazer’s family of companies sponsors the event and all proceeds go toward grants for local non-profits and culinary scholarships at TSTC. The grants offer other ways for the community to get involved.

“There's tons of tables, we invite our non-profit grant recipients to come decorate the tables to you kind of learn about where the money's going,” said Levesque.

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased from several local businesses including Chick-fil-A on the north side of town, Buffalo Wild Wings and Lytle Land and Cattle or online at www.tasteofAbilene.com.
