Agency Helps Seniors Navigate Medicare Enrollment

Medicare Open Enrollment begins October 15th.  Seniors will have until December 7th to enroll, disenroll, or make changes to their Part D prescription drug plans.  As baby boomers continue to age, the Kaiser Family Foundationestimates more than 64-million Americans will be enrolled in Medicare next year.  Seniors choose from an array of options from basic coverage to prescription plans and advantage plans.  This year Part D is changing, as is the web portal for Medicare, it can be an overwhelming process.  The West Central Texas office of the Area Agency on Aging helps seniors and their caregivers figure out the best plans to meet their unique needs.  The agency will hold Medicare enrollment events in each of the 19 counties of the Big Country before the end of open enrollment.
