State lawmakers have had a busy summer, and their work is not done yet.  Governor Greg Abbott has called them back to Austin for a third special session.  Texas lawmakers will consider whether state or local governments can mandate COVID-19 vaccines during the new session which begins later this month.  Governor Abbott's decision to include the issue on the agenda is consistent with his orders restricting pandemic safety measures such as mask mandates in schools.   Representative Lambert says he'd like to see local officials make decisions about responding to the ongoing pandemic that will work best for their citizens.  He also looks forward to the redistricting process and doling out federal pandemic funds when he returns to his desk at the state capitol on September 2o.
