Abilene issues call for residents to join boards

The City of Abilene is looking for people to fill vacancies on eight different boards. It’s an opportunity to serve the community by helping to guide decision making on everything from the Abilene Regional Airport to public health and the library system. Board members can also help keep Abilene beautiful, advocate for children and residents with disabilities, and consider appeals from civil service employees.

Board positions are open to residents of Abilene. Anyone interested can find more information on the City of Abilene website. City Secretary Shawna Atkins can answer questions about the various board's duties, and the application process for the boards as well as Abilene Academy at (325) 676-6202.
