The Grace Museum celebrates 85 years

The Grace Museum celebrated 85 years in operation, and 30 years in its current, downtown Abilene location Saturday night at the Grace Gala. Perini Ranch catered the gala, which also featured dancing and a silent auction.

Executive Director Laura Moore says the funds raised help pay for exhibitions and adult and children’s education at the Grace, “We are a place that really works to serve our community well. And we consider this time our watch. The museum has been here for 85 years and so this is our season and we feel like we just need to move everything forward in a powerful way to serve people.”

The gala is the museum’s largest fundraiser, and according to organizers, more than 700 people turned out this year. The 50 auction items including Cowboys tickets, special dinners, and unique rentals sold out, giving organizers a lot to celebrate as they wrapped up months of preparation.
