Abilene Mayor Anthony Williams and Dyess Air Force Base 7th Bomb Wing Vice Commander Colonel Kevin Kippie signed the Intergovernmental Support Agreement at Abilene City Hall earlier this morning. The ten year agreement will give the City of Abilene the ability to assist the Dyess Air Force Base in buying goods and services. Dyess Vice Commander Colonel Kippie said bulk purchasing, and reduced operating costs will give the air base a lot of economic benefit, "It’s better for Dyess, we get more value for our money and we also get to support local businesses that have been so supportive to us through the years.”

Officials say the agreement will save the city and the taxpayers money, while also allowing money to be fed back into local Abilene businesses.
