Dyess Air Force Base hosted the first Big Country Air Show in four years this past Saturday. The day was packed full of static displays, helicopters, a tank, robotic dogs and, of course, planes. Throughout the fest, airmen and women showed off their skills with performances of airplane maneuvers, paratroopers, supply drops and more. In between the demonstrations families from around the Big Country enjoyed refreshments and military-themed bounce houses.
The day also featured displays of aviation history, like the C-47, the plane that led the invasion that laid the foundation for the liberation of France. Officials also swore in seven new recruits in front of the estimated 30,000 people in attendance. Crews from South Carolina, Macdill AFB, Dover AFB and more came to show America's strike base to show just a small bit of what it means to serve in the military.
