ACU's Entra La Plaza celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanos Unidos and Abilene Christian University’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion hosted their annual Entra A La Plaza event Friday to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. The event was held on campus at the GATA fountain. The evening was filled with food trucks, a petting zoo, raffles, floral headband-making, and a $500 scholarship giveaway.

The night was full of community. Entertainment for the evening included worship, Zumba, and Ballet Folklorico. The night ended with a performance by Bidi Bidi Banda (a Selena Tribute Band).

ACU student Aubrey Jaklewicz contributed to the event by face painting. "People of different cultures who are all coming together and celebrating this I think it’s really sweet.”

ACU's Entra La Plaza is one of many events planned that honors Hispanic Heritage Month in Abilene. Hispanic Heritage Month is from September 15 through October 15.
