Candidates make their case to Taylor County’s Republicans

The audience heard from candidates running to be the Republican on the ballot in the District 19 Congressional race, Texas Statehouse Representative, and Taylor County Sheriff.

“This is a really important event because it determines who the candidate is going to be for the Republican Party in the election... and we’re really excited to see all these wonderful Republicans turn out for our event tonight,” said Darla Avery, a member of the Executive Committee for the Taylor County Republican Party.

With the packed agenda, the night lasted longer than then originally expected as each candidate presented their platform and answered questions. But Taylor County native, Larry Wellhousen says voters need events like this, “We need to support our people that are running our country and our state and our county and our city. I want to just hear what they had to say.”

Texas voters will pick their party’s candidates for the general election on March 5.
