Paramount Productions 31st Annual Summer Musical is Legally Blonde

UPDATE: SHOW'S LAST PERFORMANCES HAVE BEEN CANCELED DUE TO ILLNESS 7/5/24

Last Friday was opening night for the local production of Legally Blonde the Musical. It was chosen as the Paramount Productions’ 31st Annual Summer Musical.

As the curtains rose on the Paramount stage last Friday, a wave of pink and Blonde descended into downtown.

Director Katie Hahn explains why "Legally Blonde" was the perfect choice for this summer's musical, "It is bright and happy. It is surprisingly deep for what you hear from the title and what you see in the movie. The movie has a lot of art, I think the musical expands and gives us even more to grab onto and it features agonists of great integrity and kindness people told me that it brought a lot of joy to Abilene and that’s all that we want."

Despite the challenges of construction and the 4th of July holiday, the team is optimistic that the community will turn out to see the show this final weekend.

Hahn stresses that such productions give locals an important opportunity to share their talents and creativity with their friends and neighbors, “all our cast crew are local, they come from all over our town and different areas of town. That’s exciting to me because the talent is top-notch and I think that’s the very best part of community theater.”

The cast and crew are all set to dazzle audiences with the Paramount's summer production of "Legally Blonde". Catch one of the shows this Friday or Saturday at 7:30 PM.
