With seven candidates on the district 19 ballot the hopefuls are working to differentiate themselves from the rest of the field.
Hawley’s James Barbee wants to spark conversation about moving away from an income tax and to a flat tax. He’s also proposing a healthcare system that he says would solve problems that lead to crushing medical debt for individuals and a lack of healthcare in rural areas.
Barbee is a former electrical supervisor at Abilene Christian University, a small business owner, and an active community member serving on a variety of boards and committees.
He came by KACU’s studios to share his thoughts on serving West Texas in Washington.
