Early voting has had a much higher than usual turnout in Taylor County this primary voting season. That’s thanks in no small part to the crowded field for two open seats.
According to FEC reports Tom Sell is the candidate who’s raised the most money in this race to become the Republican candidate for Texas Congressional District 19. As of the most recent filing deadline Sell tallied more than $1.2 million.
He is coming into the race with experience in Washington, where he served former District 19 Congressman Larry Combest when he chaired the U.S. House Agriculture Committee. Sell is a Lubbock businessman and agriculture lobbyist. KTTZ's Brad Burt spoke to Sell for the West Texas Dispatch.
