McMurry University will host an iris rhizome sale on Saturday, September 14 from1:00 PM - 2:00 PM in the Garrison United Methodist Campus Center, Mabee Room D. The sale includes recent creations by Tom Burseen, Texas hybridizer who recently won the Dykes Medal (2023) for the best hybrid in North America. Cost of the rhizomes is $5 - $10 each. September is traditionally the month to plant irises for spring blooms, and a group of iris enthusiasts are conducting this sale to help others learn about the ease of growing irises in the Big Country.
