Spread your Wings on the Wind at the annual Science and Nature festival, Saturday October 17, 2026 at Abilene State Park from 10 am to 2 pm. The park entrance fee is $5 per car and the festival is free. Enjoy family fun with science and nature stations and game activities. Visitors can check their wingspan, learn how to cast a fishing rod, throw a dart with an atlatl and explore the solar system. Bring a picnic lunch or visit the food truck, HTeaO and spend the day. The event is brought to you by the Big Country Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists, a group of well-informed volunteers providing education, outreach and services for the beneficial management of natural resources in Texas communities. It is sponsored by TAMU Agrilife Extention Service and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
