Buffalo Solider monument a vision of Ms. Sherley Spears

A memorial to the Buffalo Soldiers will open in San Angelo and the celebration will be on July 28th-30th. The memorial team will introduce the community to the one-of-a-kind memorial that gives honor to the four Black regiments who served the country in the U.S. Army after the Civil War.

The memorial is designed to be an interactive and interpretive space with 10 8-foot monuments that provide history about various topics and soldiers who made an impact on the Buffalo Soldier’s American story.
