A Quarter Of College Students Don't Have Enough To Eat

Government Accountability Office
The Government Accountability Office estimates millions of college students are missing out on assistance.

About a quarter of students experience a lack of access to nutritious food when they go to campuses of four year colleges and universities.

Research by Shannon Que and Professor Stephen Baldridge at Abilene Christian University shines a light on what they describe as an invisible crisis: food insecurity on college campuses.  Shannon will present her research as part of a panel this week at Baylor University’s Texas Hunger Initiative.  The research also received recognition recently from the Center for Public Justice, which chose the study as one of three to receive the 2019 Hatfield Prize.
